WOW, mortgage rates improved over the last few days, fueled by the major drop in Oil, and our old friend Italy is back in the news with a collapsing economy, which has the potential of taking down the EU. And then Trade Wars are back, with the US threatening 25% tariffs on electronics made in China. And lets not forget Israel & Iran trading shots. All of these items and pushing traders into bonds, which will drive down mortgage rates.

Mortgage rates are pretty stuck in a narrow trading band, and really economic news is going to be ignored this week as all eyes are going to focus on Iran and Oil. And rates continue to worsen, this will make 2nd week in a row rates have increased, and right now there is no sign of stopping. With the missile strike in Syria not a huge news maker, and China may play ball with Trade, AND Trump saying NAFTA and the TPP trade talks are going well, there was really no turmoil last week to cause rates to slide, thus we saw an increase. This week is earnings week, so we are expecting some GREAT numbers. We are looking for rate to climb this week.

Mortgage rates ticked up, just a smidge, after a pretty wild and volitile week.  The main influence last week, that actually caused rates to ease, was the threat of Trump adding tariffs onto Steel and Aluminum, which would not only hinder the US economy, but cause allies to impose tariffs on our stuff as well.

Home Loan Mortgage rates were almost flat last week, as the stock market gave back a little and bond traders socked the money into bonds.  But don't think this is a reversal of mortgage rates, we are still anticipating rates to be in the 5% by end of March.

WOW what a month for rates, since January 5th, rates have been on a rocket ride up. And it is all about the economy and inflation. Inflationary numbers is the #1 influence on mortgage rates right now.
