I’m Gabe McGuire, a Senior Loan Officer at 1st Choice Mortgage Company in Meridian with 12 years of experience in the mortgage industry. I was born and raised in Idaho, and today I help homebuyers and homeowners in Boise, Meridian, Nampa, the rest of the Treasure Valley, and communities across the state.
I believe home financing should start with a conversation, not a sales pitch. Whether you’re buying your first home, moving to Idaho, stepping up to your next home, or weighing a refinance, my job is to make the process easier to understand so you can make decisions with confidence.

Twelve years in mortgage lending have taught me that every borrower has a different story. There isn’t a one-size-fits-all mortgage, so I start by listening to your goals, your timeline, and your budget.
From there, I answer your questions, explain your options in plain English, and walk you through the numbers and trade-offs. I work with first-time homebuyers, experienced homeowners, families relocating to Idaho, and self-employed borrowers or others whose finances don’t fit a simple template.
Because 1st Choice Mortgage is a mortgage broker, I’m not limited to a single bank’s loan products. I can compare programs and guidelines across multiple wholesale lenders, which helps when a borrower’s situation fits one lender’s requirements better than another’s. Programs I regularly help clients with include FHA loans, VA loans, USDA Rural Development loans, Idaho Housing (IHFA) loans, conventional financing, and refinances. Idaho Isn’t Just Where I Work. It’s Home.

Growing up in Idaho shaped who I am. Outside of work, my favorite thing is spending time with my three children and getting outdoors.
In the winter, I snowboard at Brundage Mountain near McCall, Tamarack Resort in Donnelly, and Bogus Basin above Boise. In warmer months, you’ll find me fishing and hiking around Cascade or biking the Boise River Greenbelt.
From the Treasure Valley to our mountain towns, I know what makes this state a special place to live. I enjoy helping lifelong Idahoans and newcomers alike find a place to call home.
