Mortgage rates pretty much took last week off, and the stock market battled with a sell off. But this is an issue, typically, when stock tank, investors put their money into Bonds, and they did NOT last week. Lots of economic data to digest this week, mainly focusing on Housing. Still no reason to float rates, they are continuing to go up!

Let's put it simple, rates sucked last week. We had wayyy to much inflation news last week, and it saw a major sell off of bonds, thus rate rose over .25 last week. This week, we are anticipating much of the same, economic news is going to be focused on inflation again, there is no reason to think rates are going to go back under 5.00%, we can say Good Buy to the 4's.

Mortgage rates got a reprieve last week, but only because Italy can't get its act together, if it wasn't for that, rates would of worsened for the 5th week in a row. We are still at highest levels since September 2011. This week is a biggy, with wage inflation on everyone's mind. I suspect a tepid week, until Friday when we see unemployment numbers and wage inflation numbers.

For the 4th straight week, mortgage rates have climbed, but last week we say rates tick to that 5.00% mark for some borrowers. This week it should be all about market data, but so far, the start of the week, it is all about Trump. I suspect with Trump in the news, rates will stabilize, but if the markets start looking at economic news, we will trend higher again.

Mortgage rates ticked up again, for the 3rd Straight week. With focus again on inflation, Federal Reserve unwinding of their bond purchase and slower retail sales. This week we will have lots of housing data coming in as well as more tariffs. Probably another bad week for bonds and mortgage rates.

As anticipated, rates went up last week, and economic data and geopolitics pointed to higher rates. This week has started out kind of scary, and we have a pretty good jump in the in the 10 Year Bond Yield, and Mortgage Back Securities, which both broke through some pretty good resistance levels. It looks like most traders sold bonds and stocks, thus going into cash with the worry about additional tariffs against China and Canada. This week will also have unemployment numbers. Not going to be a good week for rates.

Mortgage rates last week were pretty much flat, as there was hardly any unexpected news and all data came in as expected. Fed did say they are going to continue to increase rates so I would say 100% of a September .25 and 90% of another .25 in December. Quite a bit of economic news this week, including a bunch of inflation numbers. AND more important news about NAFTA.
