With the missile strike in Syria not a huge news maker, and China may play ball with Trade, AND Trump saying NAFTA and the TPP trade talks are going well, there was really no turmoil last week to cause rates to slide, thus we saw an increase. This week is earnings week, so we are expecting some GREAT numbers. We are looking for rate to climb this week.

Mortgage rates for home loans were pretty much flat last week, after pretty good swing up and down.  We are still looking at locking, as the next tweet could send the stock market up or down, thus influencing bonds.  We are going to be ultra cautious as we get further and further into the month, as the Personal Consumption Expenditure or PCE report will come out on April 30th, and this is the primary report the Fed Looks to for inflation data.  Also The Fed is now purchasing less and less Mortgage Bonds each month, also adding fuel to the Rate Increase fire...remember 6% is not a bad rate!

Mortgage rates ticked up last week, after a 3+ year low on July 5th, we have seen rates slowing raise higher on good US economic news and no chaos out of the EU. Conventional rates still in the Mid 3's, while Government rates still in the low 3's.
